 Ed Palanker's method
Author: Roxann

I read in the BBoard archives that you, Ed, seal the back of new reeds on day #2 of breaking them in. I'm wondering if you just use your finger to seal them or do you use some kind of tool? Do you seal the reed from top to bottom? Would you mind sharing a more detailed description of how you go about sealing your reeds? Many Thanks!

This is a GOLDMINE of information. Thank you very much. It answers other questions I have as well, such as how to work on a reed that is stiff and sluggish. Thank you VERY much.

Thanks Ed, saves me from telling Roxann. I'm happy to be of assistance to her, and everyone that visits my site. I wrote it as a public service to the clarinet community.
