 Loving my new instrument!

The day beore Thanksgiving, Santa arrived a little early at our house. It was the FedEx man, bearing a new Backun Protege in cocobollo with gold-plated keys, fresh from setup with Tom Puwalski's Clarinet Gourmet.

It's a very nice instrument. I need to break it in more to get the best effects from the new clarinet, but so far, it's a hit! Folks in the band were gathering arould to gawk at it last week in rehearsal, ad I just couldn't help but to show it off to my sectionmates.

Morrie Backun hs done it again, and at a very nice price!

I get the same reaction from the boys in the band when I break out my metal clarinet. Well, almost...

Glad you're enjoying your new Backun! I have a MoBa barrel and it's wonderful. I've often wondered what a whole clarinet by Morrie would be like.

It's a Pan American 884N, a four-piece metal clarinet with a double-walled bell that screws on and off like a light bulb.
