Hello!
I have been playing clarinet for 9 or 10 years now. I play on a Buffet e11, M30 mouthpiece and Vandoren Rue Lepic 3.5 reeds.
Lately, I have been noticing that I am very, very sharp, around 20-30 cents, especially in the throat tones, which is way off from my usually in tune and sometimes 5 cents sharp. The reeds also wear out very quickly - probably in about two or three days. My altissimo notes are also rather flat and I'm squeaking a lot. The sound is very thin and bright, which is something I am not used to hearing in my playing. It sounds weak.
I used to play on the regular blue box Vandoren reeds strength 3.5, but they were consistently bad. I switched to the Rue Lepics about two or three months ago and I started having problems about two or three weeks ago.
Does this sound like I need to go up in strength or am I just doing something wrong? I really like the Rue Lepics, because they have been playing consistently well up until now.
-Thank you, Naomi

Try the 3.5+ and see how you get on with them as they're nearer the strength as regular Vandoren 3.5 (Rue Lepics are softer in comparison to regular Vandorens).
I find Rue Lepics don't last long either - I've had some that only lasted an evening, but played well in that short time.

If your throat register notes are sharp...pull out. nothing wrong with this.
