Hey! I am new to the world of the clarinet (but not to woodwinds. I have played saxophone for about 4-5 years) and I bought this clarinet for 30 dollars. It is in great condition (used) and came with a really nice pro tec case, however, I have no idea who the maker of this clarinet is! I have looked over the whole instrument and could not find anything other than the serial number which is: D31973. Is there anyway to find out the maker? Thanks for the help!

It looks like a Vito, or some other Leblanc product. You can tell because the trill keys are straight rather than bumping up over the others.

I thought Leblanc keys did bump over the others. That's what define a Leblanc. All other clarinets have trill keys side-by side.

That's a Bundy - they also had inline trill/side keys for a time.

Definitely Bundy keywork. The lack of any name also says "bundy" to me - or Buescher.

The logos were transfers which was stuck onto these Bundys so they often wore out easily leaving no trace they were there.
I have seen an early '70s plastic Bundy which still has its transfers all in place - it belongs to my oboe teacher and is in remarkable condition.

Thanks for all the help everyone! Is Bundy a good/decent clarinet brand? I have played their saxophones and I must say that they were not the best, haha. The clarinet plays pretty nicely though.

They're a decent student instrument and built to last - probably the only large bore student clarinet on the market.
The large bore ones have a .590 or 15mm bore, so the same as a Selmer Centered Tone (your one is most likely the large bore one). The narrower bore Bundy 577 has a .577 or 14.6mm bore which is more like a Series 10.

I just measured the bore and found out it is a 15 mm bore! Excuse my little knowledge on the clarinet but what exactly does a bigger bore size do? Is it better?

I prefer large bore clarinets of this kind (I play large bore Selmer Centered Tone and Series 9) and find they play very easily in the altissimo register.
They have much lower breath resistance to some narrow bore clarinets as they have large toneholes as well as the large bore.

I'd bet a buck that Ken is correct. I've restored a number of Leblanc Vito student clarinets and the structure of those trill keys is common on that model.

The pad cups and key arms are pure Bundy - they made clarinets with both inline and offset trill/side keys. The trill keys are also only mounted between a single pair of pillars on this clarinet - on Vitos, they're both mounted on separate pairs of pillars instead of sharing a single pair.
Other clarinets that have inline side/trill keys are Sapphire/James&Young/Artemis (all from the same Taiwanese factory) and more recently, Schreiber made the Buffet B10 and the E11 C and Eb clarinets also with inline side/trill keys. You'll also see a lot of Chinese clarinets with them too, so it's not only Leblanc/Noblet/Normany/Vito/Martin clarinets that have them.
