We are already members of a "club" (rather a home), here on sneezy.
Our fantastic host is not disguising.
I do not see any good reason to share our pictures, thoughts and ideas with you if you are not even willing to give your real name.
Not to speak about investing in a project such as this Clarinet Pages.

Geez, don't jump down my throat, I was just too lazy to put in all my info and no, I was not disguising. You are rude Stefano and I wouldn't want you to join my club anyway. I used to come on here all the time and I like this place and I just thought having another club to share pictures and stories would be an asset. But obviously you are very rude and I am not going to be returning to this club.
This is in reference to "Stefano's" post.

well I do think that Sneeze is the best place on the web, but you do not need to purchase a membership for sneezy or Sandra's clarinet club and no where does it say that you can only be associated with one or the other. I think that Sandra was just telling us about her new club that she has created. If you love the clarinet then you cam go to as many clubs as you want, the more people, the more information the more fun. Everyone else was just being defensive of Sneezy, Sneezy is a great place to be and I think we are all a bit sentimental. Why cant we all be part of many different clubs???

Amen Graham, my goodness! I don't think Sandra was trying to take anything away from Sneez.org. Don't we learn from each other by sharing ideas?!?!
I always thought musicians are a kin to each other.

P.S. I'm a bass trb. player, that plays Bari sax in one group, and alto, bass,
contra alto in a Clarinet Ensemble. Being fairly new to clarinet performance, thank God for my Clarinet buddies that help me with questions, instruments, mouthpieces, etc... They have been more than happy to help me.

Whoa, Sandra, hold on a second. I'm sure that Stefano's post was not meant to be offensive. Yeah, people are a bit setimental about sneezy.org. Don't take it personally.

Hmmm... Sneezy.org is not really a "club". It is an entire community of clarinetists. No one is singled out, and everyone is welcome to participate. Sneezy.org is not exclusive. Everyone - good, bad, annoying, rude, etc... They are all welcome here. Now and then people may be asked to be a little more polite, or stay off subjects such as politics, but nobody is "shunned" here.

Now if you are going to run a successful "club", you should learn not to take offense at such things. Often comments that are not meant to be offensive, can appear to be. Even if they <i>are</i> offensive, don't try to fight back. Fighting back is only fodder for more arguments, and even flaming.
To tell you the truth, if you really want to learn how to successfully operate a club such as your own, just watch how Mark Charette, our webmaster, handles things. He never seems to get angry at everyone, always welcoming everyone. He only steps in occasionally to tell people to be nice. Sure, he also participates in discussion, but he treats everyone as an equal. He only uses his webmaster authority when needed, and even then, he does it with care.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you are doing things wrong with your club. I'm just trying to explain why, in my opinion, it is that things run so well here on sneezy.
Also, do not just give up on the entire sneezy community just because of one person's words. From time to time, there will be people that you will not agree with, or sometimes, that just plain offend you. That doesn't mean there aren't other people, who are kind, and willing to help. It is ultimately your choice, but I urge you - don't give up on sneezy. -- Nate Zeien

I am not against you - or anyone else - creating different or alternative places to meet and share ideas or pictures about the clarinet.
I am not either trying to defend these Clarinet Pages or Mark, they do not need my help in establishing themselves.
I just wanted to clarify that it is a bit strange to ask someone to participate in sharing "pictures, thoughts and ideas", if you do not even start sharing with others.
Maybe I was a bit rude, but at least now I know your thoughts and name ;-)
On the internet you can always create a "virtual you", but to present yourself anonymously makes it often difficult for others to trust you.
If you wish you can write to me directly.

To create a club is like launching a new product. Try to be attractive!

Hey Laura (and other contralto players)...there is a great contralto club on yahoo...if you have a yahoo ID, you might want to check it out, if you don't, then get one, everyone (all 6 of us I think) are really nice.
Anyway, I'm all for it, when I get done with this I'll check it out.
