The plastic Evette was quite a good student-level instrument, and eventually morphed into the B12. Key plating can be patchy, but they play well.

I've got the inbetweeny one that was doing the rounds after the Evette and before the B12 - the B&H Regent II.
This is identical but has a B&H Regent shaped bell (no metal bell ring) and the logos were printed on instead of being stamped into the barrel, top joint and bell.
The B12 then replaced this and again was identical in nearly aspect to the Regent II but had stamped Buffet logos and the metal bell ring was reinstated.
Other changes have taken place over time - plastic thumbrest, adjustable metal thumbrest, brushed matt finish, no bell ring, plastic socket and bell rings, nylon pins in the LH levers, headed point screws, two-piece side F#, Eb/Bb, throat A, LH lever key arms/touchpieces instead of singular piece touchpiece/key arms, shorter barrel, different cases, ligatures, caps, printed on logos, synthetic tenon and key corks, return to natural tenon corks, silver plated keywork, etc., etc.
