Hello. I am new here. And i sure could use some help identifying a clarinet. It is plastic and the only markings are on the upper and lower joints. The upper joint has 285518 imprinted. Imprinted on the lower joint is made in W. Germany and 285518. Except for the mouthpiece i see no logos or model numbers. The mouthpiece, which i believe is not native to the clarinet, has the logo, Buffet Crampon Paris and below the oval containing the Buffet logo are two printed words which are mostly worn off and not legible. Rom what i can see the first word is B____ and the second word is M____r
I appreciate any input.

From your description, it is very likely that you have an Evette clarinet, and that the Evette logos have worn off. They were made in (West) Germany by Wenzel Schreiber and were Buffet's plastic student clarinet.

Can you post a photo (or photos) of your clarinet so we can see what you have - but as has already been stated, being made in W.Germany screams Schreiber.
