What is the model and year of my Buffet?

I purchased a buffet for my son from the internet. Upon receiving the item, I could only find "made in Germany" and "622XXX" engraved on the clarinet. I searched online and tried the BC website mentioned here many times, it seems that weblink is no longer available and other online charts do not have this serial number for buffet. How may I determine the clarinet I bought (year, make, and model)?

Most likely, an E-11. Buffet outsourced the production of that model to Schreiber in Germany for quite a while.

I called Buffet, they ran the number and told me over the phone that it is a R-13 manufactured in France; however, on the clarinet I received it engraved "made in germany" followed by "622XXX". Is it really made in Germany or France, or this Clarinet is a counterfeit?

Anyone has been in this situation before? This is my first time to buy clarinet, I did some research online and learnt that I should go with Buffet. Now I am so frustrated.

R13's are made in France - only.

If your clarinet says "Made in Germany" it's a student model and definitely NOT an R13.

I am not so worry about whether it is an R13 anymore right now. The sheer fact that it has a serial no. belongs to R-13 from France engraved with "made in Germany" makes me feel I bought a fake.

The serial numbers for German made "Buffets" (yours, if wood, is almost certainly an E11) have no relationship to the French made clarinets. The E11 numbers belong to the Schreiber factory in Germany. The fact that your number is the same as that belonging to a French R13 is pure coincidence. The exact same number could equally apply to a Boosey and Hawkes instrument. Many makers start there production numbers at 00001 and just count up from there.

I hope this is the case. It is made of wood, though. I feel a little better now. When I called the company (Buffet), they say it is not possible, the serial no. has to be made in France, which made me feel so bad. Thank you Norman.
