 Buffet Crampon year of manufacture

I just bought a Buffet Crampon E-11 on ebay and would like to find the year of manufacture. It was made in Germany and the serial number is 612874. Where should I start? Kim

I assume from the serial number that this is a German made instrument and so is actually a Schreiber (a Buffet in name only).

I think that the E11s followed the same serial listings as the B12s so if this is a the case then from data I have gathered over the years from instruments passing through my workshop then the instrument would date from approx. 1997- 1999 so take the middle 1998 if you like.

I have never come across any official Schreiber listings myself, suppose you could always email them.
