 Mouthpiece for Contra Alto Clarinet
Author: Iñaki I

I'd just buy a Contra Alto Clarinet Selmer-Bundy on Ebay, and would like to use my Vandoren B40 mouthpiece for Bass Clarinet on it. I read an article in wich they stated that was just a matter of cork between them, or that it could just fit fine. As I don't have the new horn with me yet Iám not able to try it, I live at Argentina and it will take a while to arrive. I'm willing to know if anybody knows if that is true or if I'll have to buy a new mouthpiece for the contra alto. Thank you very much!

A bass clarinet mouthpiece will probably work OK on contra-alto, as long as you wrap the cork with something (tape, or more cork) to get a good seal there.

I have a few. Clark Fobes makes wonderful ones.
