I just broke my Richard Hawkins model 'B' that I've played on for 4 years (I've been playing for a total of 6 years), and I have placement auditions on tuesday. i could probably get a vandoren in time from amazon, but which mouthpiece could be a quick fix to this? I play on a r-13 with 3.5 v-12 reeds, and bg silver ligature.

Steven,
Looks as though you're going to be fairly tight for time if you need it played in and ready to go by Tuesday. Without some data on the dimensions and characteristics of your current m/p it's difficult to advise. I'd say your only realistic choice is to head off to your local music shop and try from a selection. Good luck.

What city do you live in? If you're near Dallas, I can lend you my Hawkins B, or you could try it at least.

I have not played a Hawkins so I cannot comment on the playing characteristics but I do know they are pitched higher, so if you need to default to Vandoren you should be looking at the non-13 series or the Masters Series (probably more the CL4).
