Does anyone have any information on Willson Osborne or his Rhapsody for solo clarinet. Any information would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

wILLSON OSBORNE (1906-79)
HE WROTE THE RHAPSODY FOR BASSOONIST SOL SHOENBACH, WHO RECENTLY PASSED AWAY. SCHOENBACH WAS THE PRINCIPAL BASSOONIST IN THE PHILADELPHIA ORCHESTRA FOR MANY YEARS. I THINK YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO BOTH CLARINET AND BASSOON INTERPRETATIONS OF THIS PIECE. MANY DYNAMIC SUBLETIES CANNOT BE EASILY PERFORMED BY THE BASSOON, BUT THE CLARINET CAN EASILY FADE IN AND OUT WITH GREAT CONTROL. THE AGITATED SECTIONS SOUND MORE HAUNTING ON THE BASSOON, BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. ENJOY!
