Hi all, I'm in doubt about buying one of these two clarinets:

The best one is the one which plays and tunes the best when you play test both of them...
You really should trial an instrument for a week or so before buying.

Who makes the Allora? Where is it made? Does the "Paris" model really come from France? If you have trouble finding answers to these questions, you may want to ask yourself, "Why are these answers hard to find? Is it because the instruments are of such high quality that their origin must be kept secret to avoid a rush on the factory?"
Now see what you can find out online about the Leblanc/Backun LB130. (Leave off the EX in your Google search.)
Then, go to the Woodwind and Brasswind (which, BTW, is essentially the same company as Musician's Friend and Music 123). How much do they want for an Allora AACL-913? How much for a Leblanc LB130? Is this a hint as to which might be a better quality clarinet?

From what I've read it is a knock-off of the Ridenour Lyrique. Allora is the Chinese company that initially manufactured all of the Ridenour clarinets under contract and Tom was even selling Allora-branded clarinets on his website for a while.

Ridenour Clarinet Products never sold the Allora brand. You might be thinking of the Arioso model which we sold for a period of time. I could give the full history of these brands (Lyrique, Allora, Arioso) but I'm not really sure it's appropriate for the forum.
Just wanted to clarify things.

As already stated, it is best to try before hand. If that is absolutely not possible, I would personally go with the Cadenza. I played one once and it was quite nice for the price point.

My mistake. I remembered a limited number of non-Lyrique clarinets being sold on your website a while back but I guess I mixed up the brand name.
