Not only that, they've managed to cram on a LH Ab/Eb key, forked Eb/Bb mechanism and articulared C#/G# onto it, so short of having low Eb it's nearly a full Boehm!

Come on did anyone on here buy it? I put in a bid but import duties were high so could only stay for so long ;-) I will get one, someday. With silly, small hands like mine, I think an Ab would rather suit! :-)

I've got the silly small hands, too, but I'm afraid the high pitch squeals I'd get out of an Ab would attract outer-space aliens who'd mistake my house for their staging area for invading the earth. After all, I'm so conveniently located for whacking the Washington Monument. Can't have a proper flying saucer invasion without that scene, can we? Beeeeep, squeeeeeak, hooooot!

I was the seller....I don't know if the buyer is a BBoard regular (and I don't feel that I can divulge their identity).
It's a lovely horn that is an absolute blast to play going to a wonderful home.

I didn't realize that in the UK you have to pay import duties on used clarinets. Makes it a bit tough. I bring lots of used clarinets and some saxes into Australia mostly from the UK and US, and a few from Europe. I've never yet had to pay duty on them. The strong Oz dollar was kind to me, but that's changing now.

It's 20% of the declared value slapped on top of any goods (new or used) we have to pay, plus a handling fee.

Lelia we could do 'Close Encounters'. Maybe get an Ab duet written for us? The Aliens would probably blast off back where they came from!![[happy]](http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/smileys/smiley12.gif)
If the purchaser of the Ab does come across this thread, it would be really marvellous if you could play it and record something for us? :-)
