 Cheap Reform-Boehm bass clarinets
Author: HANGARDUDE

I'd like to ask if there are Reform Boehm bass clarinets to Low C at a price below 13000USD/12000EURO? I've always wished for a Reform Boehm over a French instrument.

I don't think there's such a thing as cheap when it comes to German, Oehler and reform Boehm system clarinets - especially basses!

The only thing to do is search the various makers to see what they offer:

If there WAS, do you really think it would be worth owning? Most likely not.

I don't mean something very cheap. Just something not more than USD13000/10400EURO would have been more accessable.
The only Reform-Boehm bass that is within this price range is the Martin Foag custom Reform-Boehm to Low Eb. Yet it is even more expensive than a Selmer Low C.

For competitively priced professional level Boehm system basses to low C, I think you really ought to consider trying the Uebel Emperior bass.

I know it's a French bore bass, but you do get excellent value for money and with Buffet keywork which is far lighter in action than a Selmer.

If it didin't have to be REFORM BOEHM, you could find several down to low C at reasonable prices.

That's sort of like asking for an economy-priced Bentley.
