there were about 80 postings to this thread this past week. For anyone you didn't get a chance to post where on this earth they are from....please do so.
This was really a great post.

Arlington VA. (inside the beltway) Grew up outside the beltway in Silver Spring (except the beltway wasn't built until I was in Jr High. My big regret: not skateboarding on that road before it was opened for traffic. Skateboards were a big fad in the early 1960s)

Hmmm... I happen to have a computer program which can print out maps, and you can put little pins and flags wherever you want. These can also be saved as bitmap files. Either that, or a person could take an existing bitmap file map and and just add little red dots for each location. Any ideas? Any suggestions? I also think that someone should keep a list of names and places, and then have a little "census" so to say, maybe once or twice a year. Then add the new names and locations, and update the map. Sounds like fun... Perhaps it would also be best to have both a US map and a world map, that way everyone would be included, yet keep into more detail each state in the US. Let me know what you guys think. -- Nate Zeien

Nate, you must have missed my post earlier - in a couple of weeks or so we'll have a map online.

Great. Do I get to find out if there is anybody else in NZ, Mark? I haven't noticed one yet. I really appreciate this site, for ideas and knowledge sharing that would hardly exist otherwise, especially in remote places like New Zealand. Thanks Mark.

Mike Irish, Jerry guessed military. Me, I'd say, "military brat" followed by your own Navy tour. Are we right?

Okay, Bob. Nice going. I don't know why, after nine years military, I didn't put the airforce/navy thing together.
MIKE
That's interesting - someone banging up their hands in the construction trades and still able to manipulate the pinkies well enough to play clarinet.

Brentwood, California (northern California--not OJ Brentwood). Sounds like a cool idea, good luck.
