 Berg Larsen mouthpiece ligature
Author: Baz

I was recently given a clarinet, I did did not bother looking at the mouthpiece that came with it, eventually I did, it's a Berg Larsen, it sounds great on my E. J. Albert old simple system, but what is strange about it is, the ligature is a cheap looking two screw Berg Larsen, the mouthpiecehe Is fat, I can't get my other ligatures on it, thinking about it as I write I suppose trying an alto sax ligature might work.

If the mouthpiece sounds good with the ligature it came with, you don't need a new one.

As an experiment, take the ligature off, hold the reed on with your right thumb and play the available notes with your left hand. If the mouthpiece plays the same as with the ligature, then nothing you put on will improve it.

Now that is good advice I have never heard before.

Thanks
