I recently came across an oldish wooden clarinet with Velvetone Paris on the bell. It looks like a Buffet, but I'm not sure. Can anybody comment?

Old clarinets with unfamiliar but pleasing names are almost invariably stencils. Buffet made only a very small number, such as the Olds Opera. Your Velvetone is probably from a maker that specialized in them, such as Preufer or Malerne.
Please post photos showing both front and side views and showing any cutout areas in the wood. Also, does it have flat or needle springs for throat A, C#/G# or F#/C#?
