clarinet! This

is a pretty interesting Radiolab episode. The clarinet comes in about 2:20.

Fascinating. He's a really good player and works off the bird and the whale, getting them to respond to him. The cicada gives him something to respond to, but the cicada's song is limited. Also, the cicada is interested in only one thing -- attracting a female for SEX. There are no gay cicadas lusting after male clarinetists.
