 Clarinet mouthpiece?
Author: Baz

I have just been given a clarinet that the girl said was no good and could only be used for spare parts, I adjusted the A/Ab upper joint screw, put a spring back that had come off its hook, its playing perfectly.

...............................................

This thread concerns the mouthpiece that came with, I really like and I use it all the time now but I have no idea what it is, it has on the side '3S MS', it says London, England then something under that that has been worn so much I can only just about make out the last three letters, it looks like 'SEN' but the 'S' might be something else, I should imagine MS stands for medium short, anybody have any ideas?

.................................................

The clarinet has no name or serial number, its wood with metal ended tenons the bell is plastic and has Lafeur on it.

Mouthpiece sounds like a Berg Larsen.

Lafleur would be an Amati stencil. They're student-class instruments, but pretty well in tune and built like tanks.

Thanks, it is a Berg Larsen I checked on-line and the typeface is the same, I have had a good look at it and what is unusual is in the chamber is an oval shaped depression, I have never come across this before in all my years of playing, it has taken over from my Vandoren 5JB and my ROC 5*(it has a large baffle in the chamber)it sounds great on my Metal Selmer Sterling.

It is built like a tank and is in tune, not bad for something that cost me nothing!
