Gigliotti. An excellent test of musicianship this piece is. Also the Rach 2 adagio movement., That said there are other great renditions as well- RCO of the Netherlands soloist just retired. etc , etc.

Steve Barta sounds terrific on the Baltimore Symphony's recording with Sergiu Comissiona.

And WHY was it so wrongheaded and usable as a cautionary tale?
Critical thinking is lame. I like famous player x from famous orchestra y. His/her sound is so dark. Wonder what type of ligature they use?

I like Clark Brody's rendition with Chicago when Reiner was conducting. I think Mr. Brody is one of the most underrated principal clarinetists when he was in his prime.
