Hi:
I've been doing some research and cannot find a difference in design between the Buffet R13, Festival and Prestige besides differences in keywork and wood and wood finish...is there a difference? Do they all have the same bore?
I tend to always gravitate toward the Festival. I'm not sure why, maybe because it seems more focused to my ear/feel. Is the bore smaller by chance?

You can do some searches on the board. Acoustically, the prestige and the r13 should be the exact same. The difference is the wood selected for it.
The festival does have a few design changes.
Copy this into google - "buffet festival design site:woodwind.org" and you should find some good reading.
For what it's worth, I think the festival is fantastic and prefer it more than the r13s and prestiges I've played in the past.

the festivals and prestiges have an additional Eb lever that the r13 does not have. I have always preferred the Festival because of its price is definitely worth it for the sound you can get. That does not usually happen with new R13s, and prestiges. Buffet claims that the prestiges is hand crafted by only "the most senior and experienced clarinet craftsmen from Buffet Crampon" although I don't find it that big of a deal. Plus you re getting charged a few hundred extra for a bit of improvement for the crafting which is not worth it. the r13s have really descended since the "golden era" and you have to have some luck to find a good one

There are people out there who still insist to this day that there was a difference between the LeBlanc Opus and Concerto horns even though they were acoustical twins. The only difference were metal tenon rings and the Eb key.

Acoustics are different. I don't have exact measurements. The register tube is the same as the RC, different than the Prestige.

A 2012 Prestige R13 I got last year, with a great price, is noticeably heavier than my 2005 R13 although the body diameter seems the same, perhaps due to heavier wood. It is capable of stronger sounds than the R13, which are often not needed. The tuning is about the same. This Prestige R13 may be an iota brighter than the R13. People with thumb problems should probably select the R13 over the heavier clarinets.
I'm not sure about Gortex pads although they may last forever. They have a relatively deep seat, perhaps due to a warm oven in the factory to help seat them. Cork or double skin pads may feel better because they don't generally have a very deep seat, especially when new. Gortex pads seem a little "squishier" to me. Given a choice, I probably would repad a clarinet with standard double skin and cork pads.
