 Vintage Conservatoire Mouthpiece

Hi,
I was wondering if somebody would know anything about this mouthpiece. It's got bunch of names on it: Ext Select, Paris, "Steel Ebonite", B7 on the facing and Patent Process No: 14.....8.
It pays well for an old mouthpiece with very clear focused sound.
The pitch is even throughout the reristers, although it feels pretty low A=440.
Thanks for your help,
Sasha.

It's most likely a woodwind company mouthpiece. They can play well with a good facing (which most of the times having someone reface them). Some people do like them as is though, but their potential is beyond what they are as stock.

They tend to vary quite a bit as well. I have 8 of various vintages and they are all very different. Different facings, different bore sizes, different tip shapes (designed seemingly for all different reeds from mouthpiece to mouthpiece). Some of them play well, some of them are taking a bit more time and TLC to work correctly.

A picture or two would be helpful though, just in case it looks different than I imagine it does.

(Addition: This is a guess...further inspection and research might yield a different result. Those are most of the markings I see on woodwind co. mouthpieces)

Thanks NBeaty.
I would guess it is from 20's. I guess there is a connection between Paris and Woodwind company?

Interesting. Not quite sure what to make of it. If you're curious what the measurements are and a detailed inspection I'd be happy to take a look at it for you. I see you live pretty close to Denton (relatively).
