I recently heard the Mercadante Concerto in Bb on public radio (Karl Leister recording). I was previously unfamiliar with the piece but thought it rather pretty and went looking for my own copy. The Leister version is out of print with used CDs running $138! There aren't too many other versions out there, and none are artists familiar to me. Anyone care to recommend a modern version? Either MP3 or CD is fine. I'll save my $138 for that new barrel I've been eyeing.

Luis Rossi has one -- I haven't actively listened to another to provide a comparison.

Rossi recorded it on his "Live Performances" CD, which is readily available.
I also have a recording of it that Rossi did in Warsaw (not recorded for commercial purposes) that he gave me that you're welcome to if you get in touch via my e-mail address. They have several interesting differences.
There's a used copy on Amazon right now and individual tracks of the concerto by Eduard Brunner.
Thomas Friedli also recorded it on his "Concertos Pour Clarinette Et Orchestre" CD, which is available on Amazon for fifteen bucks.
There are also several recordings on YouTube, one of which done by a very prominent player who I won't name that is BOOOORING!
My favorite is on the Rossi "Live Performances" CD.

Thanks. I'll follow up on the Rossi version. I wasn't sure how it compared to the Brunner. I missed the Friedli version completely since the tracks are listed in French.
