I was recently fortunate enough to pick up a King Marigaux clarinet (made by Marigaux / marketed by King). It seems to be a superb horn - definitely pro quality, but I was wondering if anyone could fill in the blanks about its history. The serial number on the horn is 285. That's it . . . just 285. Could anyone say when King marketed these horns? What are today's Marigaux clarinets like? Any info would be appreciated.

I believe Marigaux were marketed in the U.S. by King during the early/mid-70s. Marigaux clarinets and saxophones are indeed very nice instruments.
