 identify maker?

I buy old clarinets, get them playing well, and donate them to schools. I just got this one for $10, but I think it is too "good" for a donation to a beginning 6th grader. The metal is pretty soft, the wood is beautiful, and it just seems to be much better quality than my usual find. I haven't seen one with the extra screw supporting the posts, either.

It is a Val's Artist (stencil), made in France. The only other one I have been able to find is a fully overhauled one for sale on ebay for $1,100+.

I don't expect this clarinet is anything special. It may play fine and be a good step up instrument for a student that is doing well. My main concerns would be giving a wooden clarinet to a beginner (cracks etc.), and also these older instruments can be maintenance hogs. If you can get some money for it you can put the money into repairing some other instruments. It will be interesting to see what the ebay clarinet actually sells for.

Some of the pillars are anchored in a similar way to some Couesnon clarinets.
