I just bought a clarinet for $200.
I feel cheated.
The emblem on the upper section of the clarinet says NORMANDY RESO-TONE U.S.A. The bell emblem just says Normandy.
The case is big and bulky and says "Paris, France LEBLANC Kenosha, Wisconsin"
The serial number stamped on the clarinet reads "9039C"
Did I spend too much?
I sold my five year old Jupiter for 150 so I could buy this one.
Was it a good idea?
Does the case even belong to my clarinet?

Yes! The emblem on the first picture of that link looks exactly like mine.
It makes me feel a little better that it says it's a good beginning clarinet, but I like to think of myself as an intermediate player.
The clarinet is in perfect condition. It has just been refurbished.

I wouldn't worry about it being classified a beginner Clarinet. Check it with a tuner with long tones and see how it fares. If in the future you decide to upgrade clarinets, it could end up being a very good clarinet for any outdoor, poor weather concerts. That's where I see the word "reso-tone" pop up the most in this forum (a saught after clarinet for bad weather gigs)

You didn't spend too much providing that the Normandy is in good playing shape (a surprising number of "just refurbished" clarinets are not). It may not have been the greatest idea simply because this is likely a marginal upgrade from what you had before. I have a couple of old Normandy clarinets and they are generally pretty decent for what they are. The lower end models like the reso-tone are good student models and some of the more expensive wood models are pretty good intermediate level clarinets.
