 Weber N1 and N2

I'm going to join in a concert competition (just for woodwinds and brass players) but I dont know what is the better to play, Weber Concerto n1 or n2.
I really like Concerto N1 and I know that a clarinetist will play Weber n2.
Do you think if I play N1 the other clarinetist will "have advantages" because of the challenges technicians in Weber n2?

Please I need your help, because the competition is coming soon!!

The audition (and I mean ANY audition) is about what YOU put forth as a musician - rhythm, intonation dynamics, color.

Larry Combs won the finals of the Chicago Symphony audition with the Weber 1st Concerto. Clark Brody said there was no competition; he clearly had the best rhythm.

Bottom line: Play what you like best; what you know best. If you like what you play (and the way you play), your chances will be best.

Technique is always impressive when done very cleanly and well but if you can play concerto 1 better, cleaner and more musicial with a good tone and good intonation and good rhythm then that is equally if not more impressive. Play what you can play best any and all the time.

Weber was primarily an opera composer, and every phrase of his instrumental music has to sing. If you think like an opera singer, you won't go wrong.

The finger-jock parts of both concertos have to be perfectly smooth, with long, singing lines. If you play a bit slower, and perfectly even, it will sound faster than if you push the tempo and play unevenly.
