It's amazing what people can manage to do even under circumstances that must have been disorienting, to say the least: not only did William Bennett manage to hold his oboe up as he fell, but a violinist managed to grab it and save it from falling! I hope Mr. Bennett makes full recovery.

Very sad news. This should remain at the top of all our topics for some time. Not only is William Bennett's death a great loss for music lovers but it is also a big reminder of how precious good health is.

So very sad but it looks as if he started to move out of this world doing something he loved best. I hope he goes to oboe heaven.
