I'm thinking of replacing my child's cheap hand-me-down clarinet that needs perhaps more repair than its value. Are there suggestions of reliable used clarinet dealers that will sell me something in good working order? I'm also open to proven auction site sellers, but don't want anything that will arrive needing repairs. The Frannytoo.com site appears to be gone. Clarinuts has had no inventory for months. This clarinet will get used in middle school marching band, so I'm looking for something comparable to Yamaha 20/250 - decent but not high end.

Jeremy Soule at www.thevintageclarinetdoctor.com is an excellent technician, fine player and all-around good guy. He has a number of beautifully refurbished instruments for very reasonable prices.

I second the suggestion to contact Jeremy. He is currently overhauling an old Martin Freres Lamont I picked up for cheap. I plan to give it to a friends 7th grade daughter who is currently using a school horn. Even if he doesn't have what you want, you could always pick up a plastic Yamaha on eBay and have him repad it. He's done great work on everything I've sent him.
