I recently acquired Buffet 19764 and there were some bonus mouthpieces with it. One was a completely unmarked crystal (glass) mpc. I decided to run it under cold water before testing it and the (very old) tenon cork absorbed the water and came away. Tonight I finished totally scraping it off and as I worked closely with it discovered QUALITE SUPERIEURE (and "5" I think) engraved on the sides (not bottom) of the metal tenon ring. Usually, metal rings at the bottom indicate a newer glass mpc.
Just thought I'd share. Never saw this mark on glass. Thought it was just for rubber.
I miss Brad and Vytas and Greg Smith and "clancy" on here gabbing about old mouthpieces. Has the gang has moved on?
