Has anyone seen the show? One cannot help but notice the consistently prominent solo orchestral work in the show. Does anyone know who have played for the show? The clarinetist is fantastic and a joy to listen to.

hi yes, yes, yes. im a yank/newzealander. so often we get the british tv period shows here. they sure know how to do the period thing. it seemed full orchestra for background. this clarinetist is super!!. also good composer/ arranger as well. it was a good renewed version of the old upstairs/downstairs. i noticed the 2nd series had a different composer with far less clarinet solos. all the british woodwind players were terrific in the first series.
some of you yanks may find this series on youtube. interesting dowtown abby uses little back ground music.
i told many of clarinet friends to watch the show just to hear this superb clarinetist. i loved to find out who he/she was and his pedigree. cheers paul

Samples 18, 19, 29. This what you're talking about? Nice enough music, jazzy. 32 is Elgar though.
