 Vandoren on fire?
Author: Simone
Date:   2001-03-16 22:55

My teacher told me he had heard that there had been a fire at Vandoren. This could be the explanation why some shops had problems to get new reeds (at least in Switzerland). Can anyone tell me if this is true or just a rumour?

Simone,

I really don't think there could of been a fire at their factory in Bormes les Mimosas. You know that it has been raining in Europe for weeks, and that no fire could of possibly set off in these conditions.

If you need reeds I suggest you go to Servette Music in Geneva or Vents du midi in Geneva as well. They always have a huge stock.

If you can't go there because you live far from Geneva, email me, and I could go get some for you and send them by post.

Apart from that, where do you live ?

I'm in Nyon, and you ?

Who's your teacher ? Friedli ? Rapin ? Rozeboom ? Westfal ?

Anyway, I'm can't be sure about the fire business, but I really don't think it's possible. You might want to ask René Hagmann at Servette music. He knows alwayz everything about everything.

Ciao

Daniel
