Hi! I have problem with my Selmer Series 9.
I`ve bought one month ago. I`ve made full repair(new pads corks...)
It`is very hard to blow there. After buffet clarinets that I played before it`s more harder to play on my selmer and it`s uncomfortable to me. How can I resolve this problem? Maby I need to try easier reeds? I use Vandoren 5RV Lyre mtp. and Australia Vintage and Rico reserve reeds N3 (this combination was ideal for any buffet instrument) I know about bigger bore in this Selmer but i haven`t any expirience of compareing instruments with different bores.
Also I feel that is little harder to blow in notes that are in low joint.
Can anyone advice me something

Are the pads all seating properly so there aren't any leaks?

Take the bell off and put a correct sized cork into the lower joint (while the clarinet is fully assembled). Remove the barrel and blow into the joined-up top and bottom section by ensuring no air is escaping from the top and by fingering a low E. If there are leaks this is likely to tell you where they are.

Assuming you're using the same mouthpiece/reed combination on the Buffet and the Selmer, I too suspect there's a leak somewhere.

double check for leaks. Everyone makes mistakes, so have your repairman double check the horn.
The Selmer 9 series is much more open. This can give you the feeling that more air is needed. This is actually true, compared to Buffet clarinets. Remember this is an older clarinet, perhaps from the 1960's. However these horns are still very good.
Email me and I can help you figure out if you have a leak.

Maybe there isn't enough venting which will make any instrument resistant.

Voova, have you given yourself a whole week of intense playing to build up your stamina? When I got my 1010's ( wide bore) I felt like I had one lung but soon adjusted as my diaphragm got used to them. My more modern Peter Eatons are wide bore too but much easier to play. However both sound wonderful but if you can give the welly, the older 1010s more than deilver. ;-)

I also think that maby i need to play intensively basic exercises long notes etc...
Last my instrument was buffet e11 and I think that difference betwen this two clarinets is veeeeery big. So I will play hard week or two after that will make a conclusion.

"...I`ve made full repair(new pads corks...)..."
Did you do this yourself?
If so, do you have experience at getting a clarinet leakproof with minimal finger pressure on the keys? ... At not messing up the spring tension of G#/D# when you assemble, ...Of ensuring that point pivots have no discernable play? Of obtaining required venting? etc, etc, etc?
If not, then what about your "technician"?
A properly serviced clarinet, irrespective of brand (unless it is an extremely poor model) plays very easily.
