I just realized that some of my articles, at least one, I have on my site in a PDF format won't open. Everything else seems to work fine. If anyone is interesting in reading one that won't open please contact me at my e-mail address and I'll send it to you. I have no idea why other than Apple no longer is supporting IWeb which is what I have my website built on. Sorry if it causes any inconvience. It seems most everything else opens fine, so far.

Ed,
The pdf files seem to be opening fine in my browser (Chrome on an AMD-based desktop PC).
I don't know anything about Mobile me, Icloud or IWeb - maybe a problem at your browser's end if it's relying on an Apple front end to read the files.

Well, Ed, I was going to check on your files (I don't think any change to iCloud has affected your files, since they're actually in a real, physical location), but I couldn't. Seems like your website is not available to me at work because (I'll bet!) of an "adult" site on your shared server.
This is what comes up - you need to discuss this ASAP with your hosting company:
"This Page Cannot Be Displayed

Thanks Mark, I'm not sure I even understand all that,. I'm not very tech savvy. I realized I had a problem with someone wrote me a said they could not open the link on an article about moutpieces and ligatures. When I tried opening it and several others on my web page on my computer none would open but I just signed on via the web, everything opens fine except that one article and the one other about Gordy Miller-second clarinet. Everything else opens fine. No one else has mentioned being blocked from my website. I'll have to see if I hear from some others about that. It may be that some corperated computers block it though I don't understand why, there's nothing political or racey on it. I'm going to wait and see if I hear from anyone else before doing anything since I'm able to read and hear everything once I went on from the web. Thanks again, I'll save your recomendations in case the problem gets worse.

Ed, I'm getting a Page Not Found error from the Gordy Miller article and the one right above it about CHOOSING LIGS & MPS. SOmething may have happened to the files or their file names have somehow been corrupted on the server.
Maybe try uploading fresh copies of the PDFs to the server again and see if the problem goes away.

Works fine here, using WinXP version 5.1 SP 3, Firefox 16.0.2 and AVG 2012.0.2221 You do have some 404 page not found errors.
A great teacher gives you answers to questions
you don't even know you should ask.

Thanks all, those two files are the ones that won't open. I'll have to figure out how I put them on, :-) at some point and replace them. It's been a while.

I can see what is wrong with the first mentioned Ligs & MPS. When naming files, do not use special characters. the ampersand (&) is a programming character. When used in a link, it is interpolated differently and is exchanged to "Choosing Ligs %26 MPS.pdf" See the percent sign in the URL link? That is what the browser is looking for in your files on the server. Of course, that is not what the file name is - therefore, the server is not finding your file based on how it is named.
Check the file name in the link of your Gordy Miller.pdf page.
Files and URLs ARE case-sensitive. It is always best to use underscores or hyphens between words instead of using "spaces". Many browsers will also insert "%" characters where spaces are present in the file name, which will change the name of the file based on what the browser is trying to look up. Even though most of your files are working with spaces i n the file names, it is best to use underscores or hyphens between words.
To make it easier on yourself in the future, determine that all file names will be in lower-case, (even when using proper nouns and names), decide to always use hyphens or underscores between words (choose just ONE to always use when naming files and links), and always stick to those naming conventions you choose. Fluctuating between using all upper-case, spaces and underscores, and using special characters (commas, ampersands, etc.) will only trip up the links.
Hope that helps

I forgot to mention the message from Mark Charette. That message refers to his company filters flagging your IP range.
If you use a hosting company that "bundles" other websites on a single server (many do), then any website within that IP range assigned to that server can get all of the websites flagged.
So - someone on your server could be running a link farm or mal-ware based advertising is running on their site without their knowledge and filter companies blacklist potentially harmful website IP's. Now with a large corporation email system such as Ford Motor Company, it is quite common for the company to use blacklist filter lists in order to flag or block potential threats.
It most likely has nothing to do with your website at all. And most companies or individuals would not have aggressive email or web-browsing filters that would block access.
It appears that Ford is running their own server and internet access system or they pay a company to run it and have aggressive filters on access to websites or IP addresses.
There isn't really anything to be done about that since web-browsing filters are subjective at best and are not, by any means, accurate. Filters are just a stab in the dark at trying to avoid potentially harmful web sites that can infect a company or individual server system.

I didn't want to get into the gory details, but Ford uses appliances serviced and run by the world's leading malware detection service. If it's on Ford's blacklist it's on tens of thousands of company blacklists.
Also, the chances of your site causing the problem is minimal (some other site on your hosting service may be causing the problem) BUT there is also a chance that your site was hacked and malware installed. I have gone in and had to decontaminate personal sites that host thru my commercial account many times.

All this info is interesting and fascinating to someone like me that doesn't understand much about these things. Setting up my web page years ago was so easy with the Apple program and mobile me but now they don't support that web program anymore but I had it on my computer. It's no long available on the newer updates. They also went to I cloud from mobile me so instead of taking just a few minutes to publish something new on my site or correct or add something it now takes up to a couple of hours and sometimes I've had to do it more than once to get everything back on. I use Go Daddy to show it but Apple told me it's I cloud that is really the problem so I'm hesitant to change or add anything at this time. Thank you all for the information and advise. I have enough trouble understanding my clarinets and reeds. :-)
