I was wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of each type of ligature were. I'm particularly interested in what the advantages of a two screw ligature would be, as I know from experience a one screw ligature offers quick adjustment and even tightening.

Well, two screws offer "uneven" tightening. That is, you can decide if you want more pressure at the top of the reed, or at the bottom of the reed, or just old fashioned even pressure.
I prefer the single screw since I always wind up preferring the even pressure throughout anyway.

Consider
Velcro is very noisy when you try to loosen or undo it during the quiet part of a concert.

One of the best ligatures I had many years ago was actually an alto sax ligature with a single screw vertically below the reed and operating directly on the pressure plate. The only modification I made was to add a thin rubber patch between the metal plate and the reed.
Fitted clarinet perfectly.
Very simple yet very effective.
Don't know if anything like that is still made these days

That sounds much like an Otto Link ligature for a metal Super Tone Master mouthpiece?
