I'm looking for any guidance or insight on solo pieces that feature a number of different clarinets. These would be used in a recital setting or as demonstration pieces introducing the different members of the clarinet family in school settings.
Already I've stumbled across Alfred Reed's "Five Dances for Five Clarinets" where each movement is a different horn and Scott Ballentine's "The Devil's Advice to Storytellers" where, again, each movement features different clarinet voice.
Has anyone played these? Any thoughts? Are there other pieces like these that should be considered/hunted down? I recognize that this is one of the dark, unexplored corners of clarinet-dom.....
Thanks in advance......
