I was chatting to a dealer last week and I mentioned I had a pair of LP E.J.Albert simple systems with Barret Action, he said if they are LP and in working order they are worth about £1000 for the pair, somehow I just cant believe this, confirmation or otherwise would be useful, thanks in advance.
I had them given to me and play the Bb.

You won't get anywhere near £1000 for any set of simple systems from any make - top quality or otherwise.
Maybe £150 tops for the set, but that's really pushing it. Most sets only command around £50.

Try buying a Selmer improved Albert System Bb clarinet for next to nothing , you'll be lucky!

A thousand pounds sounds a high price. Maybe.....maybe a collector would value them simply because they are made by Albert. Other than that - what Chris said about SS clarinets! little value to anyone except klezmer/turkish/greek players and they can get new instruments for $250 - 300.
As for the Selmer improved Alberts, they are a very, very far cry from a C19 SS horn in terms of material, build quality, intonation, capability and playability. Even then you can probably find one for less than a thousand pounds if you look.
