 Vento Clarinets

Yesterday I stopped by Music Factory Direct, in the former Woodwind Brasswind building in South Bend. Test played a Rosewood Vento clarinet that was made in China. It felt very comfortable in my hands, had no metal rings on the barrells or bell, brass caps on the joints, and easily produced a dark, mellow tone when played with my Portnoy BPO2 mpc. It was also hopelessly out of tune with itself; very flat below the staff and sharp from middle C upward. I did buy a really nice Wisemann case for $25.00 though. Wish there had been more than one of those.
