Hi
A bit off topic but anyway...
Does anyone know if there's a portable recorder like a Zoom H4 but with at least 4 inputs? Something costing less than two H4s which can be synchronized "manually".
Thanks

If you want to use external mics you can look for a small multitracker f.e. by Tascam or Boss. They offer small solutions, but you have to find out which records 4 tracks at the same time...

Thanks. I'll clarify a bit. We can use a laptop and audio card for this, but we prefer to not carry it if we don't have to. So the portable recorder will only work if it is cheap enough and small enough. If it's not so small and not cheap we prefer to compromise by carrying the laptop+card.
the Zoom R16 is too big. The Tascam DR-680 is so far the best option but is borderline in size. The Roland R-44 is a bit smaller but boarderline too expensive.
I can really figure out if I'm right about the Tascam DR-40 having stereo channels, meaning I might be able to record two stereo channels by using Y cables (2-TS to TRS). If that's true, it will be the best option and possible to record essentially 4 channels (4 channels we need are actually 2 stereo channels but using 2 TS cables each). Then it will be possible to record the 5 hannels we need with just the DR-40 + Zoom H2 and sync "manually".
Thanks
