 Two serial numbers?

This may be a silly question but do clarinets normally have two serial numbers? One on the top joint and one on the bottom? (completely unrelated to my earlier forum topic)

Most do but some don't - student Yamaha and Selmer (USA) clarinets only have one of the main joints stamped with a serial number.

The opinions I express are my own.

Yes - virtually all quality clarinets do - but they should always be the SAME number on both joints.
