Hi everyone! This is my first post on here! I started out playing clarinet in 5th grade, and changed to bass clarinet in high school. I currently play in the community band. I'm needing some advice on a problem with my bass. I can play all notes from low G to middle A with no problem. But my low F, E and Eb are a little more difficult to project. After middle A, I can not play anything until I get to high A If I go from high A to high G, I can sometimes produce the high G, but anything from middle B to high G is not possible. The clarinet produces like a buzzing sound, from the reed obviously, but it's also a high pitch sound too. I know it's hard to diagnose without actually seeing or hearing, but anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking it's an air leak, but not sure.

It could very well be a leak almost anyplace in the upper joint, even the lower. If it's not a leak it could be any number of things from the way you voice to the equipment. Sorry to be so vague but that's the way it is. If you have a professional bass clarinetist in you area I suggest consulting them.
