 Finalist - ARD Munich competition
Author: eduardo94

This year the jury (Milan Turkovic, Franklin Cohen, Eric Hoeprich, Karl Leister, Fabio di Càsola, Sabine Meyer and John Bruce Yeh) choosen only 3 clarinetist to the final in Munich:

Sergey Eletskiy, Russia
Stojan Krkuleski, Serbia
Annelien Van Wauwe, Belgium

What do you think? I dont know Sergey and Stojan, but Annelien is a very good clarinetist, She's studying with Sabine Meyer and won alot of internacional competitions. And she's so beautiful!! hahaha

Well I don't know any of them but if she's studying with Sabine Meyer I imagine/hope that Meyer as not allowed to vote for her.

Also, sorry but it's a clarinet competion, not Miss World - what she looks like doesn't/shouldn't come into it.

Vanessa.

why on earth should Meyer not vote for her? Do you seriously think that in order to get to the ridiculously high level required the contestant has only studied with Meyer? How long have they even studied with Meyer for? I would suggest most of the contestants will be known to ALL the panel from masterclasses, lessons or as respected colleages. This a competition Leister went in after he had joined Berlin. Your lack or credit to Meyer is also astounding. She is a world class artist who I'm can give valid judgements in a competion, no matter who is competing.

Your comment shows complete ignorance to this competition and the level involved.

And your educational statement has once again blessed all of us with a deeper understanding of the parentheses that encompass the term 'humanity' Red Chair.

And your comment displays a (not so) delightful naïveté.

Eduardo,

Em 2009 eu morava em Recife. Onde você mora no Brasil? Você mora em João Pessoa?

It's got nothing to do with the level involved or the eminence of the judges or even whether any particular judge can be trusted to be impartial. It is most of all about the fact that the judging must be SEEN to be impartial.

In practice, most competitions I know of where I have seen the rules do have some provision about this. I made a brief attempt to find the ones for Munich out of interest but did not manage to.

Well, I for one, believe that if the Miss World competition has an event for talent, then these talent competitions should have an event for swimsuit.

Call me old fashioned but fair is fair.

Well, if I remember correctly, Sergey Eletsky also studies with Sabine Meyer. This is common in international competitions. Final results must usually be made by unanimous decision rather than counting up votes.

All three finalists were awarded a second prize. Stojan Krkuleski also was awarded the audience prize. And Sabine Meyer voted in the final! But in a competition like Munich just one jury can't decide the final results.
