Has anyone performed the Firebird 1919 Suite ed. by Fennell? What does he do with the Firebird Variation and Infernal Dance. Tell me it isn't transposed for Bb.

It is actually transposed for Bb clarinet but the Eb part has most of the solo line. If you have smart music, you can actually view and play along with all the parts.

Hi James. Thanks for the info. Don't have smartmusic,, but I should get the part soon. I suppose the fingerings for Eb solo are horrifying not to mention totally different than the 1st orchestral A cl part that I've spent the better part of my adult life trying to learn. LOL!

I played the Firebird with my band! The part was very difficult! It sadly is transposed to Bb, which makes the high notes very difficult to blend. The Eb does have lots of melody, and the fingerings are horrible, but doable!
