I am beginning my Masters at McGill University this year and it is mandatory that we do chamber ensembles. I was able to find a WW quintet to play with, comprised of some Masters students and some 4th year undergrads.
The issue I am having is that I have very little chamber music experience. My first real experience was this past summer at a festival. I am not familiar at all with any ww quintet rep and I was hoping for some guidance on where to begin looking and maybe some suggestions of rep that I can look into.
I would love to get a head start listening to some of the standards of the genre as well as maybe some newer works (I love interesting dissonances and jazzy chords....something with a little bite to it.)
Anything you can recommend would be great!

Ligeti (6 Bagatelles most often programmed)

Less heard but very worthwhile:

Donatoni
Stockhausen
Bitsch (a personal favorite.. titled Sonatine; though scarcely programmed from what I have seen.)
There of course exist others, but these should keep you and your cohorts occupied for a while.
