The thought of stuffing a clarinet under your waist band .... the possible bending of keys, fracturing of tenons, scratching of wood. He should go to jail. These clarinets don't belong to us, we only tend to them while we're alive.

The cops also found drugs on the thief. I'm not surprised. Somebody'd have to be stoned to think gobbling down a raw Scotch Bonnet was a good idea!

Maybe he was preparing for an audition with Jelly Roll Morton's band....

None of our material possessions really belong to us. We are only using them while we are here on earth. When we die everything goes to someone else. People crack me up when they say my this and my that.

They are ours for the time we own them. Where they were before or go after that, who knows?

Christ, let's not get too existential over this...

I do think he was aspiring to perform with Jelly Roll however.

Jack,

Though Anthony, Flea nee. Balzary, Frusciante ('meh' to Klinghoffer and Navarro), and Chad are equally hip and valid cats, I've not heard of an opening for a clarinetist with the band....

And perhaps Omer has yet to relinquish his post with Jelly Roll. I'll have to give'em a call...

At either rate, I've eaten many fresh jalapeƱos (weak), and habaneros (gettin' there) from my pop's garden; and a few Scotch Bonnets from the neighbor's... they do have a bite, but aren't all that bad. Just don't plan on playing any lightly articulated music for a few days afterwards. (The exit journey.......)

Now, I have tried a small piece of an Indian ghost pepper... wow. I wouldn't recommend it for the feint of heart. Or total sadists.

Is that a clarinet in your pants, or, etc....? (That's what she said!)

Katrina, thank you for a brief respite from my all but dreary day.

-Jason
