Please excuse the shameless plug- but I'm hoping that the bboard and their students will find this useful!
I've just released Metronome+ Lite, which is a completely free metronome app for iOS, iphone, ipod touch and ipad. It has basic Metronome features and a lot of things that are quite hard to find in a free metronome app:
Great design- Minimal layout with large buttons for adjusting tempo
Loud- you can actually hear it while practicing
Extremely accurate tempo- a surprising number of metronome apps fail here

We just got a new iPad, and I plan to get this app whenever I can "borrow" the ipad long enough from my wife to put it on.
In the meantime, is there a way I can try a sample just on my computer? I tried through iTunes, but it didn't appear to be possible (I'm fairly computer illiterate).
