 J.Michael clarinets

Does anybody play on J.Michael clarinet? This Japanese, maybe chinese instrument? What are your experiences?

They are Chinese. The problem with Chinese clarinets that have Western brand names is that they can change anything about the model specifications, change factories, etc. The Chinese factory can also change certain things without the importers even knowing. I've seen J. Michael clarinets. Some were just fine for students, etc. but some were pretty lousy.

The one I had a look at several years ago had very thin and flimsy looking keywork which I doubt would last six months. But maybe things have changed since then and they're being made with more durable keywork or sourced from a different Chinese factory. But first impressions last and I wasn't impressed with anything about them.
