Do you mean the Leblanc Symphonie?

No this is a brand that has "Symphony" marked on the bell, etc. And it is,from the owner made in Florida, USA and he said it is not Chinese made but made in FL by "Symphony" Really odd I can't find much out about it.

Doesn't mean it's bad, just the name Symphony has so much association with it with the orchestra - symphony.... that Google becomes almost worthless.

As far as I know the only clarinets currently being manufactured in the US are perhaps a few models from Conn-Selmer (and I'm not even really sure if those are still being made here). I don't know of any other manufacturers in the US and certainly not any in Florida. Most likely the importer for the "Symphony" clarinet is located in Florida and is being mistaken for the manufacturer.

Ridenour Clarinet Products is made in Duncanville, TX (close to Dallas) is an American maker of Clarinets, along with Conn-Selmer in Elkhart, IN, Clevland OH, LaGrange IL, and possibly one or two others. LeBlanc in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They may also make Yamaha as well. I have also heard that Yamaha clarinets are assembled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. So, there may be a company in Florida that makes clarinets, or at least finished them up.

I think there may be some companies that blur the meaning "make" with "assemble." Cannonball is a Chinese MADE instrument that is ASSEMBLED in America. Lord knows how many more of those there are.

Hi David, forgive my ignorance, but can you explain "Backun design"?

Various design innovations of barrel, bell shape (inner and outer), as well as anything else that could be copied made by them.

It's out there. Not directly saying Cannonball did that, but the design looks mighty similar.

And there are others....

In my opinion "assembly and setup" does not equate to "manufacture".

Ridenour does not manufacture their clarinets in the US. The instruments are manufactured for them in China and then get their final setup in the US. Similarly, Buffet clarinets are manufactured in France and Germany and then ones destined for sale in the US get their final setup in the US. The same scenario applies for Yamaha who manufacture their clarinets in Japan.

The Leblanc factory in Kenosha was closed in 2010 after Leblanc was absorbed into Conn-Selmer. At one time Conn-Selmer was making some of their student clarinets entirely in the US but I'm not sure if they still do. It wouldn't surprise me if they are now only doing assembly and setup as well.

Depends on how you define "manufacture". In my opinion Buffet "manufactures" their clarinets in France and Germany as all of the parts are made there.
