So I am a little new to this site, but I wanted to ask the opinion about this new mouthpiece I am looking into. This will first professional mouthpiece I have had, so I am looking at all options besides the more popular options like Vandoren. I came across Theo Wanne Classical mouthpieces, and was particularly interested in their GAIA Jazz mouthpiece. Has anyone else heard of this brand of clarinet mouthpieces and if so, have you tried their mouthpieces and have any opinions on it? Any feedback I can get on this mouthpiece would be great before I buy it!

MOO -Tried them, plays OK, know the manufacturer that makes them - get one from a custom maker that can customize it for you for less $$

Wanne recently started making that mouthpiece. He is well regarded as a sax mouthpiece maker.

At that price, you have MANY "professional-level" options available. I'd suggest taking a look at those options as well.
I can't call this mpc overpriced, since I have never played it, and don't know how it plays. I've only seen a review of the "jazz" version, but I wasn't particularly blown away with the sound clip on the site. To each his own.
I have one of his mouthpieces for Tenor Sax, and it made me sell all my other mouthpieces. So, the man knows what he is doing, though his vision is fairly specific. If the local Sam Ash stocks any, I'll try it and post my opinion, but ultimately there's no other way to really know if a mpc works for you unless you try it for yourself.
The material he uses is proprietary, and resonates very well, with rich overtones (at least for saxophone) so it's very good quality.
Is there any reason you aren't looking at the other available options? There are MANY great mouthpieces out there right now...

Thank you so much for the responses! yea it is a bit pricey... I am looking into other options as well, it's just this particular was recommended by a friend of mine, and I personally hadn't heard of it. I was wondering if others had is all. Which would you recommend?

you can search the forums for recommendations, but a short iist:
Clark Fobes
Walter Grabner
Lomax Classic
Greg Smith
Chris Hill
Charles Bay
Pyne-Clarion
Backun
Richard Hawkins
All of the above retail less than the Wanne, I believe. I have played examples from all of those makers, and they all make fine pieces. I currently play a Chris Hill version of a Henri Chedeville, and prior to that a Fobes Cicero Model. I'd recommend a search, you'll find plenty of info on the above.
At the lower-priced segment, are the Vandoren mouthpieces. These can play well, but you may have to try many. I used to use an M13 Lyre, and played it until my senior year in college, where I started checking out other (albeit more expensive) mouthpieces, mostly Zinner-based pieces, starting with a Hawkins.
Rico also came out with a new "Reserve" mouthpiece that sounds promising, but I haven't played it.
Again, I think Theo makes some fantastic pieces....but I don't know a single clarinetist (primary, not a doubler) who plays his clarinet piece. Doesn't mean it's not good...I just haven't found much info about them from anyone.
